Having lived both in the US and Canada, I generally found
that photo supplies were generally cheaper in the US - on an
absolute basis. Using current Canadian prices compared to
advertised US prices and an exchange rate of $.70, US prices
seem to be 15% - 25% cheaper than here. The store prices I am
comparing to here are London Drugs and they tend to discount
deeply. I am comparing them to the latest B&H Photo ad in
Shutterbug.
While most states have a sales tax, often by saying that
you are taking the product out of state, you can talk
the sales-folks from charging you any tax.
