EO> (been there, done that) I never gave my children choice of which
EO> corner was for standing in -- it was the one reserved just for that,
EO> away from windows and things they could damage! (Anticipating that
EO> they'd either blow their tops, which they never did, or start playing
EO> with things, which is -not- the purpose of standing in the corner!)
RF> I am not using the corner method anymore. Too restrictive. I am using
Also, depending on age, possibly inappropriate...
RF> the time out method with time starts all over again if he opens his
ed-
RF> room door or trys to talk to me before it is over. This is help
revent
RF> him from starting an argument and trying to take control. He has been
RF> really good yesterday. Except he became anti-social at a friends house
RF> until about an hour before we were going home. Spent the nite there.
He
My stepdaughter hosted a sleepover for her b-day last year, and learned the
hard way why you don't discuss religion with members of other faiths...
She's a (heathenishly) headstrong little pagan, and two of her three guests
tried to convert her -- one even had a pocket Bible.
RF> doesn't get to do that because he still has a bed wetting problem.
Dr.s RF> haven't been able to help him with that. I read sometimes when
they go
RF> on medication for ADHD/ODD that this can stop. I sure hope so for his
RF> sake. But our friends have a child with ADHD also and they didn't mind
It's nice to have your children's friends' parents be so helpful. Are they
also friends of yours?
RF> it, so I was pleased. I hope he has a good time and things are okay.
It
RF> kinda scares me alittle, but I don't want to be too overly protect him
& RF> deprive him of living a normal life ( you know the kind of life that
all
RF> kids like to do) and much as possible. At least these parents have gone
RF> through it. There childs been worst off cause he's been suspended and
RF> caused problems in school. Mine don't do that. They aren't really
them-
RF> selves at school. They wait till they get home.
It's becoming a sad world we live in -- children who can't play outside
becasue of the risks of kidnapping or assault by the neighbor, or bullying by
the kids who are unattended... If your kids can behave themselves in school
with a diagnosis of ADHD, I think the diagnosis is inaccurate. Are you
working during school hours?
