I was the one that originally begged to get Synchronet support put in.
However, the maintainer at the time did not like SMB (Synchronet Message
Base) at all. He felt it was kludgy and too hard to deal with so he put in
only the barest of support and that support has not gotten better. This was
back in 2000-2001 if memory serves.
Even after the support was put it, dealing with it was such a pain in the
ass that I gave up and just used offline mail...which is something I still
do even though GED+ supports JAM quite nicely (MBSE's native message base
format). I do have GED+ installed here if I need to get a message out and I
don't want to log into the BBS, however, with the amount of whacking I need
to do to customize things the way I like, I just stick with Multimail for
any amount of big mail reading.
