true but in some cases, maybe not... i had a link in washington state that
was way out in the boonies and had some really attrocious lines... they had
huge troubles downloading large bundles... one problem was new mail being
added to it after the transfer had failed so the next time they had to
start all over again pulling a larger bundle... we switched them to raw
PKTs which were much smaller and they could get them all over numerous
connections without having to start all over again each time...

i do raw PKTs everywhere... why waste the resources to zip them when the
mailer and network protocols can compress them on the fly? ;)
