LUFA PRESS RELEASE OPERATION NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS DEMORALIZES JUSTICE 
Edmonton AB: December 27, 2002 

Participation by Canadian Gun Owners and the membership of LUFA took
another aggressive step forward today as Bruce Hutton founder of the Law
Abiding Unregistered Firearms Association officially launched Operation
Newspaper Clippings.

Hutton stated from his home in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, "This is
just another one of those surprises we promised the Federal Justice
Department and Minister Cauchon before years end."

Hutton continues, "The board of directors of LUFA have asked every
member of LUFA to send in at least one 'Sink The Titanic' postcard, which
is available to all Canadians. Secondly, we are asking concerned Canadians
to mail continuous separate pieces of firearms related and criminal news
from their newspapers to Minister Cauchon's staff. It's obvious that the
Minister is out of touch with the minimal use of firearms in crime in
Canada and what a small portion of crime actually involves firearms.  We
are hopeful that this program will give him a better understanding of the
fact that we don't have a firearms problem in Canada.  We have a gang
problem, an organized crime problem, a suicide problem and a domestic
violence situation, all of which will not be addressed by the current
legislation.  We also hope a quarter of a million pieces of mail to the
Ministers mailbag will get his attention and help him to put common sense
legislation in place aimed at criminals."

When asked if he really thought these tactics would make a difference, he
was quoted as saying, "Hell yes, if the Americans can drop thousands
of leaflets on Iraq to demoralize the citizenry then it must work.  We are
learning from the best and doing the rest."
