Sorry ... it's just that Foucalt's twist on his Paris Pantheon's 
pendulum (given his invented universal joint) sort of rotates him 
into primary postion over the period master of the squared length 
(in my mind's eye)...

Besides which, Galileo also invented that executive toy with the 
banging pendulae ... and the vision of dangling barometers 
transmitting inertia along the line-up is a little horrendus....
