Subject: PA-RKBA! GUN REGISTRATION: MAYOR SAYS NO

Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker vetoed a bill Wednesday that would have
required city residents to register their guns, saying it would provide
nothing but false hope to residents worried about gun violence. City
Council passed the measure 9-3 last week. Councilman Norman M. Oliver, the
bill's sponsor, said he will ask council members to override Baker's veto
when they meet Dec. 19. Nine votes are needed to override a veto.
