Hi Shalanna.

the message subscribe writing2  should be in the body of the message, not
the subject.
there should also be nothing else in the body except for that one line.
signatures should also be removed for that post, and it should be in plain
text, not in HTML format, or RichText format.  That should do the trick for
them.  I haven't seen any bounces, but then the list usually only notifies
me of sucessfull subs and unsubs.

Let me know if they're still having problems.

I meet people on other lists who'd be perfect for revitalizing this list,
and they're excited for a while about subbing, but they tell me that when
they follow my directions:

They either get nothing, or they get a message with only

 >END OF COMMANDS

Is that because they ought to be putting their names after writing2?  Or
maybe it's the signature files?  (I told them to remove the signature files
for that mailing.)

Here's one of the people who've tried to subscribe lately.

(They might just be telling me they try to join, just to humor me.  That
happens a lot )
