Glad to have been of help. The reason for suggesting a soundcard is that
by the time you get all of the parts to do this, you will have spent
more than what a "garden variety" soundcard will have cost since you are
buying parts one at a time rather than in industrial quantities.
A soundcard should cost you about $60-75 through a wholesaler and will
not only be a basis for this project but will also be quite useable for
other things. When you get it, you can contact the manufacturer to see
what sorts of software they have for developers - this will give you the
"hooks" needed to make the card do what you want...
