                  RESULTS OF FIELD TARGET MATCH
                         April 5, 1998
On Sunday morning April 5 we kicked off our 1998 Field Target
Season with a 35 target shoot, and a great one it was! No doubt
the change-over to Daylight Savings Time kept a few people away,
as we shoot in the morning, but we still fielded a very
respectable turnout of 26 entrants. The weather presented us with
quite a challenge this time. The temperature was a tolerable 50
degrees, but a blustery wind kept kicking up and really tested the
abilities of our shooters. Those who shot above 20 in this shoot
really demonstrated their skill!
After the trophies were awarded, we presented five lucky
contestants with door prizes. Mike DeSanto won the AIRGUN LETTER
subscription. Chris Knauss won the U.S. AIRGUN subscription.
Lee Uhrich won the Crosman Premiers donated by AIRGUN EXPRESS,
Michael Tinsley won the seat cushion donated by MAC-1 AIRGUNS, and
John Quiter won the silhouette spinner donated by the DCF&S Field
Course itself!
All in all, it was a great day and went off without a hitch.
Special thanks must go to Range Officers Don Kaighn, Bob Vaughn,
and Dave Edwards who did so much to make this match a success!
For those who track these things, the average adult score 19.6
across all classes for this shoot.
Before somebody asks, yes, Ray's Career 707 was detuned to 19
ft-lbs for this shoot and was no threat to the targets!
If you haven't seen it yet, you can see a photo tour of our
course on my web site at www.airpower.com, just follow the links
