Evening All
Thanks to the advice you all gave me I managed to set up the dumb terminal
perfectly on my system. The serial ports are addresed as:
/dev/ttyS1
/dev/ttyS2
and so on.
so I added an extra line to the 'init' configuration file and it worked
almost straight away. One piece of advice I can pass on if you wish to try
this is to use COM2 if your machine has a separate (eg PS/2) mouse port to
which your mouse is connected. On my system (with the terminal connected to
COM1) the computer thought I had a mouse there rather than the mouse port
and didn't load the drivers for the PS/2 port. I expect you could get round
this but I didn't really need to.
