Indeed, sometimes the very method of collecting data skews the data.  For 
example, accompanying a couple on their date.  Other times, semantical 
ambiguity can skew the study.

No they don't.  At the very least you'd have to do a chi-squared test to 
determine if the difference was meaningful.  Then comes the interpretation.  
For example, does this statistical association indicate causation?
... Skip the truth, just get to the facts.
