Well one of the things that happened is that I added in your
fix somewhere sometime, and then removed it somewhere sometime,
but I got overzealous with the removal.  Actually what ended
up happening is that I thought that the DS thing was only
relevant to Watcom, so put some ifdefs around it.  But one of
the DS saves was already there, and presumably required for
Borland.  So the outstanding mystery is:

1. Why does it not work with Watcom for David (does for me).
