| subject: | Current state of Maximus for Linux |
Hi, I've been keeping an eye on this echo since 2003. Back then I was reviving my old Max board and thought I'd set it up using the Linux version. It didn't take long to find out things weren't stable and I went back to the DOS version. Three years have passed and I'm curious how things are now? - Do file upload/downloads work? - Is MEX stable? - Has anyone successfully run DOS doors using dosemu? Are there any tutorials on that somewhere? I'm curious what the dropfiles will look like. - Is ANSI working correctly? Back when I tried it, I think there were problems with color and characters? Basically if it's pretty usable now, I might give it another try. I run 2 nodes on Windows XP. When two people are one at the same time it gets a bit sluggish. I'm hoping things will be a bit smoother on linux. However if I can't get it working as good as I have it running on Windows then I'll probably wait a bit longer.
