subject: Stomper

SC>I just started using Stomper to share my faxmodem on a novell 3.12 network
SC>but I seem to have some problems. When I`ve installed all novell + dos
SC>drivers and I start a simple dos program like TELIX or FXTERM on a client
SC>the modem doesn`t respond at all. It juist keeps counting down until zero.
SC>I`ve loaded the next commands in my server:
SC>load aiocomx port=2F8 INT=3
SC>load stmgr
SC>load stomper /p1,1,0
SC>and next dos commands on my client:
SC>stmgr
SC>netfos /P1 (I`ve tried P1, P2 and P3)
Don't use stmg on the workstation.
netfos /p1 (to fossil COM1)
I usually use /p4 and set the dos/windows program to COM4.
This way I can feel assured that there are no conflicts
with an "on-board" COM1 or COM2 on the workstation.
SC>my modem server screen on my server displays :
SC>000000000001 com2 IDLE
SC>BS: 0 BR. 0 ID.
SC>I can acces this screen from my client without any problem using `stmon`
SC>possible cause? : my aiocomx.nlm is version 2.00 and in the docs it says
SC>you need at least 2.11 (can anybody get this for me or tell me where to
SC>get it?)
Be sure and upgrade to the latest AIO and AIOCOMX from ftp.novell.com
I use STOMPER with an EQUINOX 8 port serial card with 8 modems in a
roll over modem pool with DOS/Win 3.x and Win'95 and no problems.
SC>It can of course be another problem but I really have no clue...
SC>All help is extremely welcome!
SC>Greetings...
