It's the left-click.  (No real need for a scroll wheel.)  I fired-up my old
node's vBox yesterday, and had a short play.  SemPoint still respected the
GoldEd lastreads.  It all still surprises me, since the ..msg/JAM
messagebase is on my Linux server (remote PC).

My theory on the garbage chars is maybe some sort of side-effect of, or
reaction to your OS.[shrug]
