Roy Witt wrote in a message to Dana Booth: RW> I have almost all Colts, except for a SAA Ruger 44mag and a couple RW> of Ruger .22 bull barreled target pistols. I think I'm done buying RW> anymore firearms until I relocate out of California. Kind of a pisser... I live in Washington State, where the politicians pride themselves in being as liberal as in California. (like they could think on their own?) The big surprise is our firearm laws... Concealed carry, for instance, we're a "must issue" state, where there's no tests, no classes, nothing. If you apply for a CCW permit, you'll get it, pronto, by law, unless of course you're a felon or something. My kid lives in Idaho, where they have the finest hunting laws, and even there, the CCW permits are harder to come by then here. Anyway, Colt is a fine firearm, but OTOH, there's lots of good guns out there that can also fill the spot of a true 1911. Sometimes, it's impracticle to carry a full size gun. I have some Makarov's that fill this bill pretty good. Mak is a great gun, between the 9P and a .380. My wife's cz-83 is an excellent carry gun in .380, and we both have .32 pocket guns as backups. I know that .32's are crapped on, but I'd rather have a mouse gun than my fists at my age. :) Mine's a Kel Tec p-32, hers is a Beretta Tomcat. I'm rambling now, besides, in case the atf is listening, I sold them all at the last gun show. :) Dana Booth --- Ceska Zbrojovka* Origin: Washington AK-47 Organization (1:138/179) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 138/179 255 10/3 106/2000 633/267 |
