Do you know of a SMTP service that still plays nice with vsoupwin?

I suspect the age of this software means it does not pass user/pass
credentials nor will it support SSL via 465 - sound right?

I'm just playing around with it trying to see if I can get the email gateway
aspect of soupgatw and vsoup to work.

Perhaps I should be looking for other software? Not even sure there is much
about in FTN land that would handle soup packets and SMTP with SSL?
