BW> Is it possible that we do the shooting another
BW> month?
It's looking like we are going to have to postpone it, as much as I hate to
do so. We are going to have to be creative to come up with a theme for the
September campout as a replacement. Maybe a practice orienteering one in
preparation for the Camporee in October. Jordan and Justin are pretty good
at compass and map reading (lots of practice at Philmont), and could bring
the other boys up to speed. The Scouts had scheduled a couple troop meetings
as instruction periods for the younger Scouts to get up to speed.
MB> Remember, we will be camping with you, if that is
MB> still possible. We have seven scouts now too.
MB> We may have more by then.
BW> That is cool. We always like to have you guys camp
BW> with us.
The same from this side. The more the merrier.
BW> We may have to share the tents with your
BW> guys since yall are growing.
I don't think that is a problem, as many of our scouts have their own tents
(Eureka Timberline) that they prefer to use, and we still have troop tents
(also Timberlines) from when we were twice as big.
BW> The November campout will be fun. I really don't know
BW> what me, Jerry,
BW> and Bab are going to power cook yet, since it is a
BW> family campout/flour
BW> war, I really do believe the boys should cook.
I have a couple younger scouts that need to cook for advancements. One needs
to assist. We can work something out.
BW> On the flour war, should
BW> we pit troop against troop, or have them chose sides?
BW> Choosing sides maybe more fair. Watchya think?
Last time they just sort of mixed it up, and it seemed to work well. I'm
sure that they will work it out.
