I have an issue with the idea of 'owning a copy of Linux' but more to the
point the GPL guarantees rights to the source for the binaries you've been
distributed, your own copy of Linux, which obviously doesn't need a Linux
compatibility layer supplied by SCO...
It's only the users of SCO Unix with a Linux layer who might have rights to
expect the source on demand, and the right to redistribute. The boundaries
of what they can expect are defined by how viral the GPL is.
It's a shame that the quality of this piece typifies discussion of this issue.
