No, its the fact that public school is "free". Vouchers would
create a large market overnight.

There's a Montessori school and another private school in the old seminary
buildings next to the Santa Barbara mission. Really nice location for
schools.

I think the public and more socialistic nature of these schools is what
attracts them in the first place.
