I know this is an old message, but I just now saw it and thought I should add
clarification anyone else who might happen upon this thread (better later than
never):

SBBSecho *can* export packetized NetMail to "stored messages"
(*.msg files) and
not import them into an SMB message base. Just pass SBBSecho the "-i"
command-line option (this works with SBBSecho v2 or v3) while importing
(tossing) bundles and packets. You could then have some other program process
the netmail folder and then run SBBSecho again (without the '-i' argument) and
it would process the netmail folder itself, importing any locally-addressed
netmail messages. No teeth-pulling necessary.
