I saw that one awhile back and deleted it.  I don't recall if I noticed the
Rotties, either.  It was a bad joke at best, but people aren't the same and
they are usuallly going to interpret everything they see, depending on
their upbringing, emotional baggage, etc., at the time of reading.  Some
will think it's a good joke while others will consider it distasteful.  To
explain away the reactions in modern-day jargon, some will say
"Whatever" and others will say "Go figure" and others
still will think to themselves "Yeech!".
