BJ> At this time there has been little interest in the maximus code BJ> development under linux. I believe no one at the time BJ> we last touched the code was working on running DOS BJ> doors on a Linux system under DOS emulation. And I BJ> believe I've seen reference of problems with DOSEMU BJ> running under some of the newer linux kernels, at least BJ> the last time I looked a few months ago.... And some BJ> of the items I want to get running (beyound BJ> consolidating the BBS to a Linux system running other BJ> items), tend to push the system towards running a newer BJ> kernel.... With few programmers available to work on the project, working for free and on their own time, I am greatful for the development done so far on Maximus. I can see how a big job like this would need to have some things higher priority than others. Mark me down as someone who is interested in DOS doors on linux Maximus. Without doors, I wouldn't have many users (not like I have that many to begin with) and there would be no point keeping the bbs running. BJ> Care to help with development? I wish I could, but I'm not a C programmer. I'm one of those java guys :/ Thanks, Ryan --- Maximus 3.01* Origin: The Dog House * Orillia ON Canada * bbs.doghousebbs.com (1:229/1394) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 229/1394 2000 123/500 379/1 633/267 |
