It's usually a good idea to investigate them first. We dealt with a
company that had a long-standing A rep and had been in business for years.
The national companies are that way, too.
CH>RN> My daughter took on another pet that was headed for
"Youth-In-Asia"
CH> You read David Sedaris too? ("someday I talk pretty")
No. I've been doing that since age seven, but don't tell anyone. (-:
CH> ! Well at least they were doing something. :( It's sad they didn't
CH> have him adopted out. I'm glad your daughter could take him.
My daughter has a big heart. The only concern I have is that the dog is
untrainable, except by a professional trainer, and his enormous size
intimidates two of the other dogs. They are all small breeds and the only
dog not afraid of the shepherd is the mini-pinscher. That little dog isn't
afraid of anything except me. (-:
CH> Many do not research the breed before deciding on it. They buy a dog

Too true.
CH> IE: high/low energuy combos... hmm. This isn't rocket science but as

Yep.
CH> Not too late Roger. Dogs can be rehabilitated. If you mean DUMB as

CH> I grant you some breeds such as the shih tzu are harder to train. I

You'll have to trust me on this one. No dog is untrainable in the right
hands, but you have to spend a lot of time with them amd treat them as
though they are babies. I don't want to do that with this dog even though
I like the breed more than any other. If I can find him a good home, he's
gone.
CH> Nod... so get a trainer? Then all you have to do is follow up and
CH> maintain the training.
I don't want to, but it isn't my responsibility, so it's up to my daughter.
CH> BTW if you want help with that get Cesar Milan's "be a leader of the
CH> pack'... People who actually DID read his books benefit a lot from
CH> him. The dogs too! 0
That's the name I had in mind. If we could get him here and he could do
something with this dog, I wouldn't be opposed to that. It is pure
instinct with me, if I'm going to raise and train, to let the dog know I am
the alpha male. That's the 2nd thing I do. 1st thing is to implant my
scent in their brain by blowing in its nose.
Regards,
Roger
