AA>update, the same problem persisted. The maximum RECEIVE speed I
AA>could get was 9600bps! TRANSFERs from my system were OK at 14.4k!
AA>...only RECEIVING would fail miserably, and often the connection
AA>would just quit.
PM> I have not seen things like that except on fried modems.
PM> It sounds like the incoming DSP channel is weak or damaged.
But would perhaps the LC be more prone to this failure? This is already my
second LC. The 1st one developed exactly the same problem after only 3
months of use.
I have an "original" v32bis external (my first Supra with only one PROM
upgrade) that still operates fine, I have a 28.8k external that also is fine.
All have operated on the same phone lines and computer equipment in the
past. Only the LC's were "dying".
