V.34 is the data communication protocol while v.42bis negotiates the data
compression. USR's modems will display all this information on one line
while Rockwell's can be made to show this information on multiple lines.
Sierra's chipset modems might have a command to display the equivalent
information but I haven't had much experience with them so can't help you
there. The 24000 bps speed basically says that you have a v.34 connect.

Sierra no longer manufactures modem chipsets and all information on them has
been removed from their web page. One friend of mine purchased a laptop that
had a built in Sierra chipset modem which managed a massive 2 paragraphs in
the excuse for a manual so I spent some time looking for information with no
results. Perhaps you might have better luck with Toshiba.
