* EleBBS Support List Hi Phil, > You were correct- all prompts from 705 and above were incorrect. Lucky guess. :) Actually that happens when you use a language file which was created for RA, or for an older version of EleBBS that had fewer prompts. > Looking closer at the language file, it appears we don't have the > flexibility that ProBoard offers- regarding prompts. Well ProBoard allowed running Pex from the language prompts which EleBBS cant do of course, but you can run a .Q-A script or a compiled .ELM which is nearly as powerful, and in some ways better. EleBBS also allows you to display an ANSI file from any language prompt (Like RA and ProBoard also do). Unfortunately there is nothing quite as nice as Cursory was for creating lightbar prompts and menus, but I put together a lightbar prompt pack for EleBBS, which is included within the samples.zip in the EleBBS 0.09 release archive, or you can download it from http://archives.thebbs.org/ra121a.htm - the file is ELEPP14.ZIP It's a set of replacement prompts for the language file which are each a .Q-A script. In order to make EleBBS execute a special script when a language prompt is displayed, you define a macro containing the script filename in the language prompt like this: ^K {at}FILENAME| (without any spaces) Where ^K is Control-K (The editor requires you press Ctrl-P first to add a control character), followed by {at} and the filename without the extention, and ending with the Pipe character "|". To make an ANSI file be displayed instead, you define a macro in the lanuage prompt like this: ^K !FILENAME| (without any extention or spaces) and it will search for FILENAME.ANS/AVT/ASC/RIP in the textfiles folder.
