LC stands for "Low Cost".
The LC is Class 1 fax only.
The LC is not PROM upgradable.
The 14.4 v32bis is Class 1 and 2
The 14.4 v32bis is PROM upgradable
There might be a few other differences, but I think these are the major ones.
