Lot's of unscheduled landings here at Denver over the years,  not only 
American.
I'll insert my two cents worth here on three engine ferry.  The simulator is 
a good place for PROCEDURE, but for the crews that are going to make the 
flight, It is my recomendation to at least use the aircraft for an 
acceleration test up to at least VMC by feeding in symetrical power on the 
good engines.
There is NO known data to program into a simulator on three engine ferry.  It 
is all done by guess.  Data would have to be for each portion of the 
acceleration with power and density altitude.  
Simulators are just BOOT STRAPPED to try and simulate the real thing on this.
