Actually, just to kick you while you're down:
A few years ago Borland released a Pascal development environment for Linux
named Kylix. It was essentially Delphi for Linux, which made it heavily
based on Object Pascal, but you could still write "ordinary"
Pascal programs with it if you really wanted to. Unfortunately for various
reasons Kylix was unsuccessful.
