The news had your fire-crews going to the outbreaks, too - and 
some American teams are flying in to bolster forces.

There's quite a popular support for doing just that,  but I 
suspect the melt-rate, the costs of towage and then of convertion 
might make it quite impractical.

Beside which, we don't have an Air Force that's capable of lifting 
even the smaller bits for bombing those fires;  our Government 
sold it all off.
