Yes

Yes
Actually it was a faulty network card. It was brand new so that took me a 
while to figure out. The funny thing is all servers would recognize if I 
swapped the cable around (ie connecting different network numbers together). 
There would be a router configuration error, which told me the card was ok... 
but it wasn't!!
