JS¯ Back in the mid 50s there was a TV set made by The Philco Corp. 
JS¯ that had the crt in a separate compact cabinet which sat atop
JS¯ the console containing the tubes and wiring. If you saw this
JS¯ device today, you would ask, "Where's the keyboard?"
Funny you should mention that!  I just bought one at a garage sale.
I'm planning on rebuilding it (Good old tube technology!  When I was
getting my training in the Army, I was in the LAST class that was
taught tubes), and giving it a place of honor in the family room.
It will be just the thing for watching all of the B/W movies and
fifties/early sixties TV re-runs on TV!!!
