Iran, Syria, Egypt etc must be mindful of the risk of damaging or
destroying the Mosque in any attack on Jerusalem / Israel ... it
might inhibit them. I don't know what will lead to the Temple site
being cleared, but it is quite likely that it will be as a result
of an attack on Israel, as could have happened when Iraq launched
Scuds on Jerusalem during Gulf War I.

Even if there was overwhelming evidence that the missiles were Islamic,
it is possible that the launchers would deny it, or certainly claim
they were provoked.
