Hello All,
 
It is with some degree of sadness that I announce this morning the upcoming
demise of my daughter's Persian cat Teddy.  Now I don't particularly like
cats, but this one was exceptional.  He would jump up on a chair and watch
us eat or if it was just me in the house, he'd sit in an adjoining chair
and watch me eat cereal, and I would share a flake or two with him. 
Sometime yesterday, in the late afternoon, Teddy was struck by a moving
vehicle, but managed, in what must have been great pain, to drag himself to
the front door.  His hindquarters are useless.  The vet said last night
that it would cost megabucks to repair him, but doubted it could be done. 
So, we are going to put him down this morning.
