DA> In our country, it's just recently thatthere are USR Sportster with

The X2 ISP here in North America are only a handful... not really enough,
and just to prove it... I got a X2 Upgraded Courier, and I never saw
anything faster than CONNECT 33600....
DA> My question is: since the modem is just labeled as "X2-upgradeable",

Well, the Upgradable modem does not have *ANY* X2 technology at all, not
just not activated, it isn't in the modem at all...
DA> How do you "upgrade" or "activate" the "X2 Technology" built into
DA> this Sportster "X2-upgradeable" modem? Does it only need some commands

From my previous experience with Sportster, you should be able to get the
upgrade from USR in the form of a EEPROM chip and a chip extractor. You
pop the old EEPROM out and pop the new one in...
DA> Sportster's marked with "X2-upgradeable" are new enough not to have

I donno about that... I have lefted Sportster sometime ago, not long after
I upgraded from V.FC to V.34... (I asked for a FIX, and they sent me a
UPGRADE... THANK YOU USR!!! :) )
