What?!? Surely, you are not suggesting that Cyrix CPUs are somehow not 
capable of running in protected mode?
I'm running Netware 4.11 on a Cyrix P166+ with no problems whatsoever. I've 
also installed NT4 on similar systems, and apart from the cache bug in the NT 
installer, it works great.
I'd say that the problems people are having with the Cyrix range of CPUs have 
more to do with the motherboard or BIOS than the processor itself. I have had 
problems with Cyrix systems (random crashes unless external cache was 
disabled), but in every case the CPU would work flawlessly if I tried it on a 
different motherboard. In two cases the problems disappeared after a BIOS 
flash upgrade.
