subject: Vista and Rogers/Yahoo

From: "John Beamish"

If you've read any of my posts about Rogers, you'll know that I don't
exactly consider them to be the premier ISP.
But, it's what I've got and it's what I'm learning to live with.

Today, this came through and, yes, it does indeed appear to be a genuine
comm from Rogers. So, as late as Vista was, how slow/incompetent do you
have to be to find yourself in this position:

Recently, Microsoft launched its new Windows VistaTM operating system,
which has resulted in incompatibilities with some of our third party
software vendors, including several software-based elements of the Rogers
Yahoo! service. These impacts will in no way interrupt the speed and
reliability of your Internet service.

To help you understand how the new Vista operating system may affect you
and your current Rogers Yahoo!ƒR Hi-Speed Internet experience, we encourage
you to visit the Windows VistaTM section on our help Website. At Rogers we
remain committed to providing you with updates to your questions about
Rogers Yahoo! and the new Windows Vista operating system.

Rogers and Yahoo! have been working closely with Microsoft to update
existing software applications. Unfortunately, our Rogers Yahoo! Online
Protection security software suite will be temporarily disabled if you
choose to install the Vista operating system. We are working on a solution
that will be available soon. If you have upgraded to Vista we encourage you
to check back often to the site indicated above as weƒ ™ll continue to
refresh it with the latest news about Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet as it
relates to Microsoft Vista.

Thank you for choosing Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet. We appreciate your
business and are dedicated to providing you with Internet service that lets
you stay connected to the people and information most important to you.

Sincerely,
Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet
