If I was a `sysop'...or had a lot of business material on a computer system I'd probably be doing the `backup' thing too. The only things I do with my equipment, especially now I'm retired, doesn't call for all that. I don't keep storage directories on the main setup, I keep them on thumb drives. And I copy the main thumb drive to a `backup' thumb drive every so often just in case. These last two times I replaced a computer with a new one was only because I wanted a new system. In fact, I recall sending a formatted 500 megabyte drive to someone way back when out of a system I replaced with a new one. Wayne Chirnside I think it was. --- SBBSecho 2.27-Win32* Origin: Telnet://valhalla.synchro.net - Richmond, Virginia (1:275/93) SEEN-BY: 19/33 34/999 90/1 116/18 120/331 123/500 128/187 140/1 218/700 222/2 SEEN-BY: 226/0 160 230/150 240/1120 249/303 250/1 261/38 100 266/404 267/155 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 282/1031 1056 292/907 908 320/119 219 340/400 393/68 396/45 SEEN-BY: 633/267 280 640/384 712/620 848 770/1 801/161 @PATH: 275/93 100 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
