Packet Drivers never were much fun, but back in the DOS days my
experience was that getting a name brand LAN card such as a 3COM
which included a packet driver specifically for that card was the way
to go... The generic drivers/cards never worked well for me.

You have me curious, why would you want to run a telnet BBS from
a DOS based PC?
