In the modern manufacturing world, PC boards are often washed with "de-ionized" water in what amounts to a huge dishwasher/dryer. I have an HR2510 that took a bath in dirty rainwater whilst resting on the floorboard of my GF's car some 12 years ago. I took it home and immediatly rinsed it (inside and out) with tap water, dried it with a hair dryer, and let it sit in the oven at very low temp for a few hours. It's been working fine ever since.
