=> HA!!! Thats what I didn' do to mine...No wonder I don't catch
=> much..What is the "properP way to retro christen a boat?
Well that raises a good question! I know it is bad luck to change a name
but I don't know the protocol to re-christen a boat with her original
name but a new captain, maybe if the captain were to gently tap her nose
with the bottle of bubly so as not to break it, then say something
momentous and drink said bottle :)
By the way, I had a Bayliner 2750 for 7 years that I renamed the day I
bought her. We did actually do a sort of silly christening and she was a
trouble free boat for the entire time. The first year with our Regal
277xl was a nightmare of problems, bad weather, bad choices, you name it
and we had named her fresh (no original name) .. 2 years ago we finally
did the silly little ritual with wine (was handy) and "Distant Thunder"
has been a great boat since so I really think the name is secondary to
the booze :)
