Hi all,
After about 6 months of bugging you guys, (thanks especially
to Jonathan and Lynn) I have purchased the following system :
Tyan Tiger 1692S Motherboard
Pentium II 333 MHz
512 Meg of SDRAM
Toshiba ATAPI CD-ROM 32x
IBM 8.06 Gig EIDE hard drive
Matrox Millenium II AGP
I have downloaded IDEDASD.EXE to get the IBM1S506.ADD and the
IBMIDECD.FLT files and have incorporated these into the install
disks, per the readme. (And I am using the /V switch on the
IBM1S506.ADD driver statement) Other than that, the install disks
are just as created by the "CDINST.CMD" batch file on the WARP
4.0 (Blue Spine) CD.
When I attempt to install warp, it fails on disk 2 (which is actually
disk 3, of course) with a :
"Trap 0003, Error in driver $ATAPI.CD, system is halted, contact your
service representative."
as well as the usual register info. I have tried various combinations
of BIOS settings regarding shadowing and I have also jumpered the
motherboard all the way back to 233 MHz. None of this has any effect.
Does anyone have any ideas? This SHOULD be a killer system if I can get
past the ATAPI CD-ROM problem. BTW the Hard Disk is attached to channel
0, and the CD-ROM to channel 1. These are the only devices attached to
the on board EIDE controllers, and there are NO other devices or cards
attached except for the Matrox.
Thanks
Peter
