i don't think it really got fixed...

here's the script(s) that i use...
===== updatemax =====
cd /opt
echo removing existing tree...
rm -rf maximus
echo installing base prerequisits...
tar zxf max-3.03-etc.tar.gz
echo killing old log and err files...
rm maxbuild?.log
rm maxbuild?.err
./getmax
./cfgmax
./compmax
cd /opt
===== end =====
===== getmax =====
cd /opt
echo updating maximus from sourceforge cvs repository...
cvs -z3 -d :pserver:anonymous{at}cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/maximus \
co maximus >/opt/maxbuild1.log 2>&1
cd /opt
===== end =====
===== cfgmax =====
cd /opt
cd maximus
echo configuring... hit enter...
./configure --prefix=/opt/max >/opt/maxbuild2.log 2>&1
cd /opt
===== end =====
===== compmax =====
cd /opt
cd maximus
echo running make build...
make build >/opt/maxbuild3.log 2>&1
cd /opt
===== end =====
this is the same that i've always used since my very first build... at this
point, all i've been after it a good clean build...
BJ> Also, I know that the base GCC compile has changed versions since

i'm sure they are... FWIW: the box that i have been working on for all this
is an old mandrake 7.something version...
"gcc -v" gives me this...
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-mandrake-linux/2.95.3/specs
gcc version 2.95.3 19991030 (prerelease)
probably the worst thing is that i doubt that i can do much about coming up
to a newer version, not the latest, but just newer, without royally messing
something else up... i upgraded my perl and lost the working apache
install... oh well... maybe it'll be for the best to just wait for you to
"have that baby" ;)
