DH>-What is it that you wish to do with this signal...
Well, what I had in mind was to digitize a voice signal and send it over
a radio link and then recove the audio at the other end less the static.
DH>-OK - you are looking at digitizing a single audio channel with
DH>-reasonable fidelity so you need to have a sampling rate of about 40KHz
DH>-at 16 Bit samples. This represents a digital serial rate of about
DH>-720,000 Hz ( assuming two extra bits for stop bits ( 18*40 ))
The fidelity required for a voice signal might be a little less that
what you calculated but it doen't look like it would help enough to make
this feasable on the radio since the current BPS rates on radio (to the
best of my knowlege) are no where near this high.
I guess that explains why nobody else thought about this (out loud)
before me.
Thanks for the info. Even if this were feasable it looks to be a wee
bit over my head, but who knows, maybe I just fot the next great
electronics inventor to thinking.
Thanks again and take care.
