The Hawaii "private" schools are for "natives" (I don't
know the definition) and is funded by the "Bishop Estate" as part
of the will of one of the princesses there.

Recently, there was a big scandal involving all sorts of conflicts of
interests, mis-management, and the board operating the estate paying
themselves a million or so each year....
