Well, I don't think anyone can answer that, short of gaining access to the 
source code and spending hours learning it, but here's what appeared when I 
nuked most of the contents of the PDOXWIN.INI file:
 
Answer Options dialog:
   Query Answer Type: Answer Table
                      Paradox     Table Name: :PRIV:ANSWER.DB [1]
Query Options dialog:
 
   Table Update Handling:         Ignore Source Changes
   Auxiliary Table Option:        Generate Auxiliary Tables
   Default Checkmark Type:        Check
   Queries Against Remote Tables: Query May Be Local or Remote
[1] Note: The default table type and name depends on the type of the source   
        table.
