Dunno - can't remember much about that movie apart from the wooden 
zoologist and the hi-speed raptors.   JC Ziman was an enthusiast 
for describing catastrophes with topological maths - especially if 
it also involved dynamics, chaos theory, game theory and the like.

He described a neat demo in Scientific American that I managed to 
apply to brand-switching behaviour for my marketing students, and 
feasted on the insights that sprang from the exercise.

Managing a floating mower on the end of a rope down a steep 
undulating lawn always invokes the basic tenets....
