subject: bones, was the hardest part ...

RW> Also, I forgot to mention that those poultry bones were *not* cooked
RW> in any way when hunted by dogs.

I think wild dogs would just eat the bones... hmm. I'm not sure on
this but the bones when raw are safter? When they're cooked is when
they splinter? hmm.. :)

...................................

CH> Yeah. In the wild in the home oh oh but they love those bones :)

RW> Yep, and I won't deprive her of them.

It's good. hey wen'ts the last time you had a really good bbque? :)
I've had some really truly gooood bbqe so good you wanna chew the
boens too

 ............

CH> Now they say to keep an eye on the chew stick. Abbie loses interest
CH> in hers after awhile. Doesn't eat it they way Cosmo will if it's
CH> left with him too long.

RW> Schatze likes those too, we get the big rawhide rolls too for her, all
RW> sorts of things like that.

We spoiled our two last weekend. We couldn't find the regular rawhide
boenes we used to get so we tried some vet approved pork/beef hide
bones .... the plain ones don'e measuer up. heh.
...............

RW> Yep, but I just give Schatze the raw bones. I don't know, those
RW> prepackaged knucklebones you buy might have already been boiled or
 RW> something. Not sure.

Could be.. but they look raw. We haven't bought any in long time.
Couldn't find them at the stores we went to in FW but the stores here
have them so we'll try it sometiem when they can chew outside....
(when it's cooler out)
...................

RW> I've heard that, but don't know as much about the small breeds. I've

Some of them have lots of food allergies. ESP the Shih Tzu. Not all
mind you but those of friends of mine, and ours does.

.........

RW> owned DOberman mixes SHepherd mixes and ROtts as an adult. I know my
RW> sister when I was a kid had that Pomeranian mix that had the tender
 RW> gut.

Yup. Has to do with their short GI track IIRC from a shih tzu site I
visited awhile ago trying to find out more about my Cosmo.

My sister's Tibetian Spaniel (said to be a misnomer of a name btwy
because theya renot 'spaniels' they look more like peko's with shorter
hair/longer legs.) had very bad food allergies. :(
    ........

CH> better. lol. (Having had some from time to time.) Probally smells
CH> really good too.

RW> I think it's a combination of both. Pack conditioning, and hoping.
RW> Schatze sure exhibits that behavior.

Yeah that is often it isn't it. A combination of factors. not just
one thing. :)
